First day as a Student Nurse! RGU Freshers Week!

Hello!

Today is a very exciting day!

I am officially back to University as a Student Nurse! However the hard work doesn’t officially begin until next week when I begin my classes. I am super excited to get stuck in!

I got a wonderful surprise this weekend from my parents who gifted me a box of resources that will support me through the next 4 years of my nursing training! The box is filled with stationary items, lunch boxes for when I am on placement, the cutest mini dictionary for Nurses and my favourite part is the sweet Fob watches!

I think I am all set! I ordered my Uniform this week for starting placement next year and I received my welcome pack from the RCN which included an ace RCN badge! I will wear my badge with pride!

This week I will be filling my time with the welcome and introduction section of Campus Moodle. There are a few documents to familiarise myself with such as the student hand book, the nurses code of professional practice and the NMCs guidance on using social media responsibly. This will keep me busy! As well as documents on campus moodle I will have the opportunity to meet my personal tutor and class via a live online session. 🙂

Freshers Week!

It is a bit of a strange week to say the least because in normal circumstances there would be the opportunity to attend the university’s Big FRESHERS week on campus; however due to Covid-19 freshers week is being held online! In my previous years of studying at RGU I had the opportunity to attend the freshers Fair on campus and the vibe is just immense ! Theres is a lot of energy, music, lots of people to meet and greet, freebies and free pizza!!! (Cannot forget to mention the free pizza)! However the RGU Union have worked exceptionally hard this year to create a remote student freshers event! There are lots of live chats and information stalls online! Click the picture to check it out!

Anyway, I better skedaddle as I have documents to read up on!

Heres to the next 4 years!

I wish every student who is starting University today the very best of luck! You can do it! 🙂
