Cairnie Fruit farm is located between Dundee and Fife.. if you do decide to take a little visit just pop the postcode KY154QD in your satnav, roll the windows down, press play on the playlist, hit the gas and off you go! 😛

A spot of lunch before strawberry picking. Super tasty! There was so much to choose from on the menu, it took us ages to decide what to eat! ANNNDDD, oh my goodness the cakes look like heaven.. but I resisted because I had a sweet treat elsewhere, which I will tell you about soon 🙂
It was such a gorgeous day for eating outside 🙂 Sun cream most definitely required !

Follow me to the strawberry picking 🙂 It’s this way ..

It is not what I expected it to be like.. I thought it was gonna be as I remember it as a child, which was scurrying around on your knees in an open field looking for the biggest Juiciest ones possible .. but no it was set at eye level and it was soooo easy to spot and pick the biggest juiciest strawbs from a mile away. In fact once your on a roll you legit cant stop putting em in yer basket!

These strawberries are the freshest of the fresh.. honestly you couldn’t get any fresher fruit than picking your own !!

F U N F O R A L L A G E S ! !
So after we picked our strawberries we took them to the barn to get them weighed and paid for. I was £6 odd for 2 full boxes of Strawbs.. which I believe is pretty reasonable considering how much they are in the supermarkets, and of course supermarket strawbs are not as fresh with all the chemicals that are used on them and it’s obviously not as fun going to a supermarket for them 😛
This is a fantastic summer day out for all ages !

So we had a quick stop at my second fave ice cream shop in the world.. Jannettas Gelateria! I love this place so much ! ❤ It’s so vibrant and bright and the ice cream and deserts are super heavenly!!
The take away queue was massive outside.. which I had kinda expected it to be honest.. because it is such a popular ice cream parlour !! So I use my noodle and thought we would be as well sitting in for some ice cream, which turned out to be rather pleasant actually … You feel like your sitting in an American ice cream parlour it’s great haha… !
There are so many flavors and combinations to choose from on the menu .. I kept my order simple though.. no really I did!

Like we hadn’t had enough strawberries that day .. nope you can never have too many strawberries ahaha!! The staff were so polite and very attentive ! I love this place so much! I always visit it here when I am in St Andrews… 🙂 It’s one of the best, and if you haven’t been then you MUST MUST try it some time soon!!

- EAT THEM 😛
- FREEZE THEM FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION
- MAKE JAM (Eat it or wrap them as gifts)
- MAKE ICE CREAM
- DO A CHOCOLATE FODUE WITH THEM
- BAKE A STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE WITH THEM
Orrr you could do what I did, which was make delicious strawberry jam and have a cream scone tea with them… SO YUM! 😛
