Hey!
So I visited Forgan’s restaurant in Broughty Ferry for a spot of lunch yesterday.
I have been into Forgan’s at Broughty Ferry for cake before, but this was my first time sitting in for a meal! It was very enjoyable and I would defiantly recommend it!
The Main Course
I chose the Fish and Chip with Pea’s! (Surprise surprise!)
The fish was fresh and the chips were defiantly homemade. The peas were very tasty! They tasted as though they had been soaked in a sweet just as they were bursting with flavor. The batter was slightly under cooked in some places but overall a tasty and well presented dish.
The Desert!
I went all out and chose the Baked Vanilla cheesecake with Berry compote! It was absolutely delicious! I haven’t tasted a better cheesecake in a restaurant before! The vanilla cheese filling tasted like white chocolate! The berry compote was fresh and complimented the vanilla flavoring very well. The biscuit base was not too thick and not too thin, it was just right! So whoever made this heaven, thank you you did a great job! If I am honest I was disappointed when I finished it. My friend quoted in jest on my last spoonful “you didn’t enjoy that all all chlo did you?” (haha) I defiantly recommend this desert!
The drinks
They have a wide selection of drinks to choose from (both alcoholic an non alcoholic). It was great to see a section of Scottish crafted drinks!
The Atmosphere
The atmosphere is very stylish and rustic and pretty quirky. (Just my style 😉 ) They have a very warm and welcoming atmosphere!
Availability
I would recommend booking as it is a busy place! They have a lot of tables and a few sections of the restaurant to chose from depending on what service you are using. There is a cafe type area, a main restaurant area, a bar area and little areas for bigger parties to dine. (There have even been small weddings in this restaurant!) Take a look at a few photos of the restaurant below. The tables of two in the main restaurant were a little bit close together, but it didn’t bother us too much it just added to the overall dining experience. 🙂
They also have an outdoor area for in the summer. (Far too cold to sit out just now!)
The Service
The service was very good. The staff were polite and approachable and very accommodating. I have to add that after booking I received an email confirmation of my booking which I thought was a very nice touch. I also received one after my visit to thank me for visiting which I also felt was a nice personal touch. (It’s the little things that count!)
The price
The fish was £12.95 and the desert was £5.95. There is a range of prices across the menu which vary depending on the dish. Taking into account for the whole dining experience I felt this was a reasonable price.
The Menu
They deliver quality Scottish produce-led food and drinks and there is a wide selection choose from on the menu! From; deli type sandwiches to gourmet dishes! There is a lot I could have picked from the menu! To view the menus click here.
Location
There was a map outside the loo’s on the wall which had little tags hanging from various locations people had visited from. I thought was pretty sweet. The Ferry is a lovely location, it was a nice change! There is also a Forgan’s restaurant in St Andrews if you fancied a trip to St Andrews!
So what do you think ?

Thats all for now!
Lots of Love from
