Chlo’s Fundraising Journey!

Wow, It’s March 2019 Already !!

In less than a weeks time, (Saturday the 9th ) I will be holding yet another charity fundraising event!

Fundraising History

I say “yet another charity event” because fundraising has been a great passion of mine since I was the age of 5 years old. From this passion I have organised so many different charity events to raise money for various different charities. I first started out by selling home-bakes round my neighbours doors, by doing garage sales and planing and hosting themed dinner parties. I later progressed to organising events in bigger venues such as; ready steady cook evenings, coffee mornings, Scottish ceilidhs, celebrity silent auctions and quiz nights! I have also raised funds though sponsorship activities such as: sponsored walks, various 5K runs, (one of which was the Gung Ho, which is the biggest inflatable 5K in the world, the other was the Muddy Race), a sky diving out of a plane (this was my favourite one 😛 ) and I have also done a few abseils, 1 which was down the Dundee University Tower and the other down the Forth Road Rail bridge! Nowt like a challenge! A charities that I have Supported in the past…

A few charities that I have supported in the past!

Here are just a few of the charities that I have supported over the years…

My latest fundraiser, all is welcome !

I’m Fundraising for Friends of Anchor! I am holding a quiz night on Saturday the 9th of March. Friends of Anchor is a charity close to both me, and my families heart. Friends of Anchor supported my Grandmother in the last few weeks of her life while she was in hospital. To show my appreciation and give something back to the charity for supporting my grandmother I have organised this event to raise funds which can be used support others just like my Grandmother. The support that my Grandma received from Friends of Anchor staff really means a lot. Even just as little as giving her a hair cut and doing her nails really made a difference to her spirits while she was in hospital. It truly means a lot to me. Thank you ! The fundraising event will be held at the Stonehaven Golf Club. There will be the following 10 rounds: music, sport, tv and film, food and drink, famous people, geography, animals, general knowledge and 2 picture rounds; guess the logo and name that famous person! Get your thinking caps on and round up your team!

There will also be a raffle with some really amazing prizes to be won from; Hot Diamonds to Various exciting Vouchers ! Check out the photo below!

Benefits of fundraising

I love fundraising! I love that fundraising supports so many people and makes such a difference to others lives, whether that is human or an animals life. As well as it being my hobby and it making a difference to lives of so many people, I also really love the organising and planning of a fundraising project and event! It keeps me busy and focussed which makes me happy. 🙂 You know I haven’t even finished this project event that I am working on and I am already thinking about the next fundraising event and the serious training which I need to start for the Kilt walk which I am doing this year! Theres no stopping me 😉 Watch this space…

Anyways I really hope that have you enjoyed this blog post!

I will be back with another blog post soon to tell you how the event went! Until then! Adios amigos!

Lots of Love from

Chlo Jack
