Another one bites the dust….

I have been fundraising since I was 5 years old. I am now 24 years old and my passion for fundraising is still as strong as ever!
In my latest blog post I spoke about my passion and my journey for fundraising! (Click here to view) I had also filled you in on my latest fundraising for Friends of Anchor! Well, here it is my final update and the GRAND TOTAL raised for this amazing charity!
About Friends of Anchor !

Friends of Anchor fund three main areas – wellbeing, equipment and research, and all of the money is spent locally for the patients who are in Aberdeen. All administration fees are covered very generously by the Balmoral Group! Click to view their website here.
Why I have chosen to fundraise for Friends of Anchor…
Friends of Anchor is an amazing charity! They are a charity close to both me and my families heart! In 2016 they supported my Grandmother in the last few weeks of her life while she was in hospital. The support staff spent time with my grandma in her ward. They did her hair and nails and would simply pop in past just to have a cuppa and a chat with her. This maybe seems so little, but in fact this small act of kindness made a huge impact to the well-being and fulfillment of the last few weeks of my Grandmas life. To show my appreciation for the support and kindness of Friends of Anchor I wanted to give something back to the charity and raise some funds that could be used to support others just like my Grandma Kathleen!

How I raised funds for friends of Anchor…
GUNG HO 5K CHALLENGE
First up I did a sponsored 5K Gung Ho challenge which took place September (2018) at Castle Fraser in Aberdeen! This was great fun! The Gung Ho is the biggest inflatable race course in the world!

QUIZ NIGHT !
I then took to organised a Quiz night event which was held at Stonehaven Golf club on the 9th of March! I created the following 10 quiz rounds: music, sport, TV and film, food and drink, famous people, geography, animals, general knowledge, and also 2 picture rounds which were guess the logo and name that famous person!

There were 6 teams in total on the night, so the turn out was not too bad at all!

As well as the quiz I had a really great raffle with a lot of great prizes!

There raffle ticket sales were amazing !

Top Prizes in the Raffle…
- Afternoon Tea for 2 at the Fairmont Hotel
- £129 Specsavers Voucher
- 14 day off peak gym membership at RGU sport
- Hot Diamond Necklace from Ali Bali
- 2 hampers to be one (1 is a sweets and treats hamper the other is a Scottish hamper!)
- Celebrity Signed items!
There was also a chance for the quizzers to pick up some Christmas goodies and a bunch of daffodils! (Random mix isn’t it!) The Christmas goodies were very kindly donated by Tesco of Banchory and the daffodils were kindly donated by the Paper shop and Bannerman Butchers in Inverbervie.
